VM mega-fic-rec post.
I need good fic in one place, dammit. 'tis a work in progress as I go through all the fic I can. This is other peoples' fics. If you want mine, go visit my fic masterlist.

I don't think I can actually define what I consider a 'good' fic or why. It has to be readable. Spelling and grammar DO make a difference. And a plot. And layout and structure, believe it or not, play a part. And it should make you think. Even if it's just one thought of "bwah!", it should stick with you and make you think. That said, it doesn't have to be a perfect, tertiary education level essay. A lot of the fics below wouldn't make it into a college exam, or even higher secondary education, but the story within is beautiful and captures attention.

I do guarantee that they're all readable. Maybe not perfect, maybe not entirely true to character, but entertaining and readable and somewhat attention grabbing/thought provoking. Either that, or just plain smut... which needs neither plot nor grammar to make it good.

Three criteria:
1. Is it readable?
2. Did I like it?
3. Would I read it again?

As for pairings, I'm an unabashed Logan/Veronica fan, but Veronica tends to be my fic whore. I'll ship her with Lamb, Weevil, Troy, basically anyone who isn't Dick or Duncan or Piz (they suck and I have principles for my fichussy). I love girl on girl (sadly lacking in this fandom), threesomes and foursomes and kink in general, but really don't get anything from boy slash. So that's what you can expect here, lots of V/L, lots of V with anyone else, some girl slash.

If you want boyslash, or a really great Duncan, Dick or Piz fic, here is not for you. Anything else goes...

Please leave feedback, authors love it, even years after! (god, what a hypocrite, I am shocking at the feedback thing, but please... be kind).

so, i'm sure you've seen the ninety something chpts of "the year of living dangerously" by vanessagalore. i haven't read it yet, i wanted to make sure it was worth it before i started reading something that big (since i have one of those deficencies where i have to finish something i start because of morbid curiosity) its not rec'd on here and i didn't know if it was because you didn't like it or because you hadn't made it that far yet.

I am in love with that story and wait anxiously for the updates of The Year of Living Dangerously, part 2 (I think it's up to 99 chapters now!).

I just haven't made it that far, yet. It says up the top that I've only gone through the veronicamarsfic comm, and only up to August 2005.

vanessa's fic doesn't come in until much later than that. It'll definitely go into the fic rec post once I get there, though.
